At the ongoing six-party talks in Beijing, North Korea’s leadership has been invited for two months to freeze its nuclear facilities, including a reactor in Nyongbyon stop. In return, the other five parties to North Korea promised to provide energy and other assistance.

In addition, the plan provides for the establishment of five working groups: on the issue of denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, the issue of energy supplies in North Korea, for cooperation in the sphere of security in the North East Asia, as well as to normalize relations with North Korea, the United States and Japan. It is assumed that these groups will prepare reports to meetings of the “Six” to designated points.
