Abbas: “We hope that the bloodshed will be stopped”
December 21, 2005 – 4:28 pmThe heads of the Palestinian Fatah and Hamas movements have signed an agreement to establish a government of national unity. The document should put an end to armed confrontation in the Palestinian Authority. Their signatures to the document set PNA chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas and one of the leaders of Hamas, Khaled Mashaal.
Abbas said: “We hope that the bloodshed will be stopped, because we all want our nation to independence”.
In turn, the King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Arabia, welcomed the agreement. Sovereign said that the Palestinian leaders “agreed to freely and independently expressing their will.” King promised to provide the government of national unity one billion dollars in aid to the Palestinian Authority withdrawal of the economy from crisis. Recall, head of Saudi Arabia personally attended the signing ceremony of the document.
