OSCE-Favorite presidential race in Turkmenistan

The Central Election Commission has recognized Turkmenistan presidential election held. Voter turnout was more than 98%. During the elections witnessed by representatives of major international organizations, including the UN and OSCE.

first-ever alternative elections were appointed in connection with the death last December of former leader Saparmurat Niyazov, who rules Turkmenistan during 21 years .

participated in the election, six candidates considered a favorite temporarily acting head of the republic Gurbanguly OSCE.

Official election results will be announced on 13 February, and the next day will be the inauguration of the new head of Turkmenistan.
