In London, a drug addict infected with anthrax
The British Health Protection Agency and the London office of the National Health Service in London warned drug users about the high probability of anthrax contamination in the use of heroin. The first London-addict, who was infected with the disease, is currently in one of the city hospitals, said Medportal.

According to the British epidemiologists, the most likely source of infection is heroin contaminated with spores of the Siberian ulcers. The debate could get into the drug together with bone meal sick animals. Likelihood of deliberate contamination of the drug, experts believe low.

Over the past two months, 19 cases of infection heroin anthrax have been recorded in various locations in Scotland. 10 ill addicts died. Contracted Londoner is the first British patient with the disease outside of Scotland.

In addition to London and Scotland, one case of a person’s death from anthrax was recorded in Germany. According to the German doctors, the patient who died also contracted this rare for Europe in the use of drugs.

The search for infected parties heroin maintained in the UK and other European countries, have not yielded results.
